Cooney Appointed to CCF Board of DirectorsBurrillville, RI (June 13, 2005)—Sandra R. Cooney has been appointed to the board of directors of the Connecting for Children and Families (CCF) program based in Woonsocket, RI. CCF provides a network of healthcare, education and social services to the Woonsocket community. Cooney, a marketing and public relations consultant, is a former President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Center of Rhode Island. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Burrillville Board of Zoning Review. Cooney Receives Annual Award from the Northern RI Chamber of CommerceBurrillville, RI (February 3, 2005)—Each year the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce (NRICC) presents a Volunteer of the Year Award to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the programs and services provided by NRICC to its members and the community. At its annual meeting at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, RI, on February 3, 2005, attended by more than 350 people, the 2004 Volunteer of the Year Award was given to Sandra R. Cooney, a public relations consultant residing in Burrillville, RI. Cooney, a member of the NRICC Board of Directors, has contributed her time and expertise to a variety of programs over the past year, including serving on the Chamber’s Strategic Planning Committee. She also serves as an Ambassador for NRICC. She participated in the Chamber’s educational programs as a participant in the Principal for a Day Program, was a presenter for the national CHOICES program, and spoke at several schools regarding a career in communications. As a member of the Executive Success Club, Cooney provided marketing services to the 2003 and 2004 Small Business Expos and also presented a seminar on Public Relations for Small Business. Cooney is a former President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Center of Rhode Island. Cooney, a marketing and public relations consultant, has been appointed to the Town of Burrillville Zoning Board of Review. Cooney has been a resident of Burrillville since 1987. The appointment was made by the Burrillville Town Council. Sandra Cooney Public Relations provides marketing advertising services, as well as public relations, to a variety of businesses and organizations. Sandra is a former President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Center of Rhode Island.
